*Εργαστήρι Πολιτισμού - Culture Workshop

Την Παρασκευή 19 Οκτωβρίου 2012 άνοιξε επισήμως τις πόρτες του το "Εργαστήρι Πολιτισμού για Παιδιά", ο νέος πολυχώρος του "Δικτύου για τα Δικαιώματα του Παιδιού" στην οδό Αλκαμένους 11 στο σταθμό Λαρίσης. Ο χώρος σχεδιάστηκε από την ομάδα Kollektivemind* και υλοποιήθηκε χάρη στην ευγενική δωρέα του Ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος και την εθελοντική εργασία των μελών του "Δικτύου". Μικροί και μεγάλοι απόλαυσαν τη ζεστή φιλοξενία, ξεναγήθηκαν στους χώρους του εργαστηρίου και μοιράστηκαν σκέψεις και ευχές για την περαιτέρω πορεία του.

Η ομάδα Kollektivemind* ευχαριστεί την κυρία Μυρσίνη Ζορμπά και τους εθελοντές του "Δικτύου" για τη συνεργασία και εύχεται το εργαστήρι να είναι πάντα πηγή χαράς και ελπίδας!

On Friday, October 19, 2012, the "Cultural Workshop for Children", the new space of the "Network for Childrens' Rights" in Alkamenous Street nearby Larisa Train Station, opened its doors to the public officially. The space is designed by Kollektivemind* and implemented with the initiative of the "Network for Childrens' Rights" and the kind and generous contribution of Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Young and old enjoyed the warm hospitality of the "Network", were guided in the building and shared thoughts and wishes for its further course.

Kollektivemind* would like to thank Mrs. Myrsini Zorba and the Volunteers of The " Network for Children's Rights" for the cooperation and wishes that the "Cultural Workshop for Children" will always be a source of joy and hope!

Το "Εργαστήρι Πολιτισμού για Παιδιά", ο νέος πολυχώρος του "Δικτύου για τα Δικαιώματα του Παιδιού" στην οδό Αλκαμένους 11 στο σταθμό Λαρίσης ανοίγει τις πόρτες του αυτή την Παρασκευή στις 6μ.μ.!! Ο σχεδιασμός του βασίστηκε στην πρόταση-μελέτη της ομάδας Kollektivemind* και η υλοποίησή του έγινε χάρη στην ευγενική δωρέα του Ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος και την εθελοντική εργασία των μελών του Δικτύου.

*Oh Joy! Unexpected weather by Kut Collective

"We brought the country to the city. To revive the grey concrete, to break the routine and give you a moment to reflect on what we are and where we are going. Sometimes surprises just happen and we have no influence over them but we do have influence over our perception. How ready are you to accept whatever life throws at you with a smile?"

"Oh Joy" is a poetic video documenting a guerrilla action that took place in the streets of Riga by Latvian collective Kut who  describe themselves as "a creative collective consisting of filmmakers, musicians, artists, politicians and cats,”. Unleashing sacks of fluffy cattail seeds from a rooftop unexpectedly transformed the grey urban setting into a white scenery and astonished drivers and put a smile on pedestrians' faces.

Ένα φιλμάκι με ποιητική ατμόσφαιρα είναι το "Oh Joy", στο οποίο καταγράφεται η πρόσφατη δράση της ομάδας Kut που πραγματοποιήθηκε μια γκρίζα μέρα στους δρόμους της Ρίγας στη Λεττονία. Μεταφέροντας "κλέφτες" από την εξοχή και απελευθερώνοντάς τους από μια ταράτσα στο κέντρο της πόλης, κατάφεραν να μετατρέψουν το γκρίζο αστικό τοπίο σε ένα αναπάντεχο λευκό σκηνικό εκπλήσσοντας τους περαστικούς οδηγούς και κάνοντας τους σαστισμένους πεζούς να χαμογελάσουν.

Ο Γάλλος Neo αιχμαλωτίζει με απλά γραφικά μέσα, όπως ένα στυλό Bic, κινέζικη μελάνη και τέμπερα, την κίνηση των break dancers.Η απεικόνιση συνοδεύεται από ένα επιστημονικό γλωσσάρι που ερμηνεύει την εκτέλεση τους. Αναπαριστά τη δύναμη και την αμεσότητα της κίνησης των χορευτών του δρόμου συνδυάζοντας το σχέδιο με τη μαθηματική έκφραση και συσχέτιση φυσικών μεγεθών, όπως η ενέργεια και η ορμή.Κατορθώνει έτσι να μεταφέρει από το χαρτί στον παραλήπτη την ενέργεια και τον ενθουσιασμό του break dancing.Εφαρμογές του καλλιτέχνη βρίσκει κανείς σε εταιρίες όπως η Νike, η Puma, αλλά και σε εταιρίες παραγωγής όπως η Warner bros.

*Last Days of "Manav-eco" at The Art Foundation

Για λίγες μέρες ακόμα, η εγκατάσταση ManavEco από τις Kollektivemind* θα φιλοξενείται στο δωμάτιο του TAF στο Μοναστηράκι, καθώς η έκθεση Ecophenomena συνεχίζεται μέχρις τις 22 Σεπτεμβρίου. Και αν δεν προλάβετε να το επισκεφτείτε, το making-of video θα σας δώσει μια εικόνα για το πως οι σακούλες από την λαϊκή αγορά μετέτρεψαν τους τοίχους ενός δωματίου!

*PechaKucha Heraklion

PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in 2003 by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham. It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It's a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace. 

The PechaKucha Night in Heraklion, Crete is organised by the architects Kallia Platyrrachou and Olga Koutantou in collaboration with Roesink and Spyros Zevelakis of ideologio.com. The very successful first night took place on 16 April 2011, vol#02 took place on 9 September 2011. PechaKucha Heraklion vol#03 is planned on 9 September 2012, and focuses on team work. Thirteen creative teams-speakers will talk about things that interest them, and Kollektivemind* is one of them! See you there!

*Manav-eco

Manav-eco is an installation by Kollektivemind* that was created for the Ecophenomena exhibition which took place at "the Art Foundation" [taf] venue in Monastiraki, Athens from 21 June to 22 Sept 2012. 

Using ordinary paper bags typically seen in street markets, the group Kollektivemind* transformed the walls of a small room into a grid that provided a new ground for expressing a message and communicating. The paper bags form pixel-like letters and words creating meaning out of what is normally discarded as waste after use, following the upcycling paradigm. The experience is ehnanced with a hidden audio system that plays mixed sound clips from street market when triggered by visitors.

Η έκθεση Ecophenomena λαμβάνει χώρα στο the Art Foundation [taf] και θα διαρκέσει μέχρι τις 22 Σεπτεμβρίου. Η Kollektivemind* συμμετέχει με την εγκατάσταση manav-eco. Με μονάδα οργάνωσης του χώρου τη σακούλα του μανάβη επιχειρείται η διάρθρωση μίας επιφάνειας. Η επανάληψη της μονάδας δημιουργεί ένα καμβά, ο οποίος λειτουργεί ως ένας πρωτογενής διαδραστικός τοίχος για έκφραση και επικοινωνία. Η εγκατάσταση συνοδεύεται από ηχητικό υλικό από την υπαίθρια λαϊκή αγορά.

Το manav-eco έχει ως κυρίαρχη έμπνευση τη λαϊκή υπαίθρια αγορά και τις βασικές αρχές οργάνωσης της. Αναφέρεται στους κοινωνικούς σχηματισμούς που προκύπτουν στο δρόμο και τον αυθόρμητο τρόπο έκφρασης και συμμετοχής σε ένα ανοιχτό πανηγυρικό δημόσιο πεδίο. Ο σχολιασμός και ο προβληματισμός της εγκατάστασης αφορούν το “υπόλειμμα” - waste - της λαϊκής αγοράς, όπως αυτό εκφράζεται μέσω της χαρτοσακούλας. Με εργαλείο την πρακτική του upcycling η εγκατάσταση επανεξετάζει τη σχέση του χρήστη με την παραγωγή χώρου και την επαφή του με τον υλικό κόσμο.
